Why is it that when I lived in Europe, banks managed to make huge profits without making you pay to take your cash out of an ATM, but in the states, you have to pay a fee? It’s all an electronic transaction. Once the banks buy the machines (which by the way allows them to close branches and get rid of employees), the only cost is paying for electricity and maintaining servers. Here’s a link on how retailers can make money off an ATM. The cost is minimal.
And now, people can only get their salaries if they use a bank card that they have to pay fees on? It’s absurd.
